The year 2005 marked a significant milestone in the educational landscape of Chakkupallam, a serene village nestled in the lush hills of Idukki district, Kerala. It was in this year that Mary Matha Public School was founded with the noble aim of providing high-quality education rooted in spiritual values, discipline, and a holistic approach to development.

 

At the heart of this initiative was Mr. Varghese Maliyeckal, a visionary leader and the first Manager of the school. His dedication, foresight, and unwavering belief in the power of education played a crucial role in laying the foundation for what would become one of the most respected educational institutions in the region.

 

Equally instrumental was Sr. Tomcy, the school’s first Principal, whose tireless efforts, academic leadership, and nurturing approach helped shape the character and culture of the school from day one. Under her guidance, the school opened its doors for its first academic year in 2005–2006, welcoming a small group of students into a space where learning was more than textbooks and exams—it was a way of life.
